Effective Date: December 27, 2025
Business Name: Exotic Pet ER (“Exotic Pet ER,” “we,” “us,” “our”)
Website: exoticpeter.com
Service Area: East Bay and surrounding areas (as available)
By accessing or using our website, contacting us, submitting a form, requesting an appointment, or using any related services (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1) Who we are
Exotic Pet ER provides veterinary services for exotic pets through a mobile clinic and related communications channels (phone, text, email, and website forms). Availability varies and capacity may be limited.
2) Important emergency and medical disclaimer
Website information is not veterinary advice. Content on our website, social media, emails, or texts is for general informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional veterinary diagnosis or treatment.
No online veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR). Contacting us, submitting a form, or receiving general guidance does not create a veterinarian-client-patient relationship. A VCPR is established only after a veterinarian evaluates your pet as required by applicable law.
If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call immediately. Do not rely on email or web forms for urgent needs. If we are unavailable or at capacity, seek the nearest appropriate emergency veterinary facility.
3) Eligibility and responsible use
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Services. You agree to:
Provide accurate and complete information about you and your pet
Use the Services lawfully and respectfully
Not attempt to disrupt or compromise the website or related systems
Not submit false, misleading, or harmful information
4) Appointment requests, availability, and capacity
Submitting a request does not guarantee an appointment. We may decline or reschedule requests based on:
Medical urgency and triage considerations
Staffing, hours of operation, and travel logistics
Equipment limitations
Cage/hospitalization capacity
Safety or legal constraints
We may ask you for additional details (species, symptoms, duration, location, prior care) to determine the safest next step.
5) Triage and communications
We may provide general triage guidance based on the information you provide, but we cannot diagnose without an exam. You agree that:
You are responsible for monitoring your pet and seeking immediate care when needed
You will disclose relevant medical history, current medications, and prior diagnostics when requested
6) Fees, estimates, deposits, and payment
Fees vary by case. Any prices displayed are typical ranges and not a quote.
Estimates. When feasible, we provide an estimate before major steps. However, exotic cases can evolve quickly and may require additional diagnostics or treatment.
Deposits. We may require a deposit to reserve a time slot or begin certain services.
Payment due. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due at the time services are provided. We may pause or decline non-emergency services for unpaid balances.
Failed/chargeback payments. If a payment fails or is disputed/charged back, you are responsible for the amount owed plus any applicable administrative and third-party fees allowed by law.
7) Cancellations and no-shows
Because capacity is limited, we ask for timely notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Cancellation window: [e.g., 24 hours] notice for non-emergency scheduled appointments
Late cancellations/no-shows: may result in a fee of [$$] or forfeiture of deposit (as permitted by law)
Emergency situations: we understand emergencies happen; contact us as soon as possible
8) Mobile clinic logistics and safety
You agree to follow any instructions related to meeting location, parking, handling your pet, and safety protocols. For everyone’s safety:
Pets must be appropriately contained (carrier, leash, secure enclosure as applicable)
Aggressive, unsafe, or unmanaged animals may be refused service
We may refuse service if a location is unsafe or access is not reasonably available
9) Owner responsibilities
You represent that you are the lawful owner or authorized agent for the pet. You agree to:
Provide informed consent for care
Disclose known bite history or behavior risks
Follow discharge instructions and medication directions
Seek follow-up care as recommended
10) Follow-up and coordination with your regular veterinarian
With your permission, we may request or share records with your primary veterinarian or referral facilities. Record sharing may require written authorization.
11) Text messages, calls, and email communications
By submitting your phone number or email, you consent to receiving communications from us related to:
Scheduling and appointment coordination
Triage follow-up and care instructions
Billing and receipts
Service updates
SMS/Texts: Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of non-essential texts by replying STOP (or by contacting us), but opting out may limit our ability to coordinate care efficiently.
